Welcome

About

Born inside the diamond of Washington DC, in between a transforming downtown and the booming suburbs of Maryland, I embarked on my first entrepreneurial adventure at a very early age and with my profits I bought my first PC and experimented with the first commercialized form of the internet.  Since school, I’ve been busy creating and advising businesses while leading and shipping high-value services and products.

After building a successful nationwide internet and software solutions company based in the DC area, I sold my company and began exploring the world of finance, online education, SaaS and e-commerce.  Recently, I’ve worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration developing geospatial, training, and coastal management community focused applications.

I consider myself a strategic and prototyping pro.  I believe in less wasteful lean iterative methodologies and testing with real people against actual problems: to understand pain points, value propositions, and to always empathize with both the business and end user.

Professionally, I have worn many hats – analyst, communicator, researcher, manager, marketer, sales strategist and more. As a result, I have a unique ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and to navigate complex challenges. In addition, I am a multi-linguist of technology-driven business. I speak fluent techy, marketer, editor, designer, and challenging stakeholder.

Hopefully I’ve piqued your interest. If so, let’s connect.

CAMMP Grants Management Program

Overview

The Coastal and Marine Management Program (CAMMP) system is a crucial platform facilitating the preparation and initiation of grants for coastal zone projects. A pool of around $200 million dollars was allocated for these projects. This project was a rescue mission as the application, initially outsourced, was determined to be insufficient. I stepped in to lead the discovery and rework of the application, transitioning it to Microsoft Azure’s cloud and enhancing its efficiency and productivity.

Role and Responsibilities

As the senior business analyst and project manager, I navigated the project through challenging vendor relations and technical hurdles, pushing for the execution of a more robust and efficient system. This involved substantial discovery work, and system rework, porting the platform to Microsoft Azure’s cloud.

Results and Impact

Despite the challenges and expanding scope, the reworked CAMMP system launched successfully, significantly improving management and applicant efficiency and productivity. The project highlighted the importance of detailed discovery in project planning, providing valuable lessons for future work.
